Have you ever thought about getting a Caravan WiFi system?

The VanConnect 4G delivers fast and flawless WiFi internet to your caravan or motorhome!

Wireless Internet WiFi For your caravan and motorhome.

We use the internet all the time. While many people go on vacation to take a break from the realities of everyday life, the truth is, we need to be able to connect with the world at large. Having secure access to the internet enables you to plan your next destination just that little bit easier. There is the very likely possibility that you still need to check your work emails every now and then while you’re on holiday. Perhaps you want to keep the kids entertained on a rainy day or you just want access to your streaming services to watch your favourite movies and TV shows? Whatever the reason, you’ll need a VanConnect 4G WiFi router.

The VanConnect is the premium Caravan WiFi solution for your home away from home. With the VanConnect you will have fast and reliable caravan internet. The VanConnect Caravan WiFi unit gives you access to the internet across multiple devices; phones, iPads, tablets, laptops and anything else that can connect to a WiFi network.

The VanConnect 3G/4G WiFi router is specifically designed for your caravan. Our Caravan WiFi router works on a standard 12 volt power connection, meaning an easy installation in your caravan or camper. You simply install the VanConnect router (base unit) inside the caravan and the optional external antenna on the roof of the caravan. The VanConnect is endorsed by Telstra and is supplied with a Telstra Pre-Paid SIM card. The unit however is not locked to any provider and is optimised for all Australian networks, Telstra, Optus, Vodafone or other. The VanConnect works on Mobile Pre-Paid Plans, Contracts and even Data Share SIM cards. As a result, you can choose which Australian Telecom Provider you would like to use and if you want a pre-paid data plan (no lock in contract) or a monthly data plan.

Some providers like Telstra even allow you to merge contracts and share the data between your mobile phone plan and the data only sim plan. This means that your data allowance is bundled together for you to use on your phone and your VanConnect.

You can even swap sim cards between different providers if you want to as the unit will automatically pick up what provider you are using and connect to their 3G or 4G network.

The Cowfish VanConnect is designed to get you better reception – faster and stronger. The VanConnect incorporates 4G LTE-ADVANCED, meaning it can give you true Telstra 4GX and Optus 4G+ at 300Mb/s, whereas the competition only offers connectivity at 150Mb/s. This means that VanConnect gives you up to twice as fast mobile internet, which is an absolute must for online streaming and downloading.

The VanConnect has lifted the standard for 4G internet speed in the Caravan and Camping community. As can be seen from the comparison table below, the VanConnect boasts a 200% improvement in maximum 4G speed over other 4G devices.

It goes without saying, 4G is better than 3G, but the reality of life in Australia is that 4G is not always available. If you’re going out into regional areas, you might sometimes struggle to find a strong 4G connection and that is why it is good to have a Caravan WiFi router that will pick up both networks.

Apart from our superior 3G and 4G omni directional antennas that provide a stronger connection to your mobile network provider, the VanConnect also incorporates MIMO technology for 4G. MIMO (Multiple-Input Multiple-Output) is a wireless technology that uses multiple transmitters and receivers to transfer more data at the same time, effectively doubling your connection speed. This feature will give you the fastest 4G internet available and our superior antennas allows the VanConnect to provide you with Caravan Internet where the competition is unable to connect.

On top of 2x2 MIMO, the VanConnect also includes Carrier Aggregation technology.
Carrier Aggregation is a technology used to increase the data rate per user, whereby multiple frequency blocks (called component carriers) are assigned to the same user.
The VanConnect is the only caravan 4G WiFi system that offers this technology.

Another great feature of the VanConnect is that multiple devices can connect to the internet whilst travelling toward your next destination. The superb WiFi range of the VanConnect will allow you to connect devices from inside your car, to the VanConnect installed in your caravan. This is possible even when traversing at 100 km/h. As a result, your co-driver can get the latest update on WikiCamps or check Google Maps and you can keep the children entertained on the back seat.

The VanConnect uses WiFi 5, also known as 802.11-AC wireless, with a throughput of 1,200 Mbit per second. This is four times faster WiFi compared to the older WiFi 4 standard, still used by our competitors today. This increased performance of the VanConnect Caravan WiFi is a must when streaming High Definition movies to multiple devices, or using Netflix or any other online streaming services in your caravan.

The VanConnect boast both the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz network bands. As most people would know, 5 GHz WiFi is much faster, whereas the 2.4 GHz WiFi network provides a greater WiFi range, but is more susceptible to radio interference. The VanConnect is a Dual Band Router, giving you best of both worlds with 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz.

The VanConnect also has a built-in media centre, allowing you to plug in USB sticks or external hard drives. You can share movies, videos or music across multiple devices at the same time. The VanConnect is also able to accept SD cards, allowing you to view and transfer movies and pictures from digital cameras, or just use the SD card as additional network attached storage. The VanConnect can read USB and SD drives that are formatted as exFAT or NTFS, not just FAT32 like some other Caravan WiFi routers on the market. This gives the VanConnect the capability to connect to more storage drives and read files larger than 4 GB. Great for watching those High Definition movies, or storing your HD drone footage.

We have specifically designed the router software to incorporate the latest in Wireless security and give you the ability to have the router and the wireless networks password protected.

Other options that people look at when wanting internet in their caravan, or attempting to improve their 4G data speed, is to use a signal repeater like a Cel-Fi Go. The Cel-Fi Go picks up a 3G or 4G signal with an external antenna and then sends that same signal out again through a small internal antenna. People refer to a Cel-Fi as a signal booster, but it is merely a repeater that has a larger antenna compared to your mobile phone. It basically does the same as the old pull out antennas and external antennas you could connect to a mobile phone from the 80’s and 90’s, to improve the signal.

One limitation of the Cel-Fi Go is that they do not operate on the 2100MHz, 2300MHz and 2600MHz frequencies used by Telstra and Optus, only on the 700, 850 and 1800MHz frequencies. This means that you are significantly limiting the amount of broadcasting towers that you can connect to. Another limitation of the Cel-Fi Go is that it cannot utilise MIMO (Multiple Input, Multiple Output) where multiple antennas are required to increase data speeds, as the Cel-Fi only has a single antenna element. The Cel-Fi is also unable to utilise Carrier Aggregation thereby further reducing your data speed. The Cel-Fi Go is designed for 3G voice calls, and it will help you to maintain a voice call in remote areas. This is what it is designed for, not internet data. Having a dedicated 4G VanConnect caravan router with the external antenna will forgo the need to have a signal repeater, as our external antenna is just as capable of receiving a signal as the Cel-Fi Go antenna, without any of the downsides of the Cel-Fi Go.

Connect where others can’t.
